Generator/Industrial Engine Field Technician

The successful candidate must be able to operate, install, diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain all types of power generation and industrial engine/rental equipment in a fast paced environment and must be able to multi-task. The successful candidate must have good human relations skills and the personality to successfully communicate and problem solve with customers. Customer satisfaction is of primary consideration.
The essential functions of this position include the following:
Independently and successfully diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain diesel and gas engines, air compressors, pumps and heaters
Reading schematics and diagnosing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical problems
Installation and commissioning of new units including generators, UPS, switchgear, automatic transfer switches and other related system products. This could include first time start-up installations
Coordinating with other systems being installed such as multiple generator sets and paralleling switchgear to ensure all related equipment works together properly as a system
Understand electricity and electronics including AC and DC circuits along with basic power generation systems
Performing both minor and major repairs to the engine, generator or components
Utilize a laptop computer for information, time keeping and diagnostic purposes
Prepare all part requisitions and service reports accurately with sufficient detail for service and accounting needs in a timely manner
Provide accurate and detailed information to create repair estimates as required
Monitor expenses versus repair estimates and ensures that the office is aware of any cost overruns prior to job completion
Understand the customer's needs and time constraints and completing scheduled repairs and service safely and within the time constraint identified while providing superior quality workmanship to meet and exceed the customer's expectations
Cares for and maintains all company vehicles, machines, equipment and tooling and ensures co-workers are doing the same
Perform work in various working conditions
Maintains a set of tools required for optimum job performance
Maintains a positive attitude
Mentor other technicians
Work with other divisions/departments within the company as needed
Attend training sessions as required
Work overtime as needed
Work in the shop as needed
As a Field Mechanic you are required to work in an industrial environment which includes exposure to significant environmental conditions.
Physical requirements include:
Overall stamina
Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing
Carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, and crouching, listening, and speaking
Must have good motor coordination skills
Coordination of eyes, hands, and feet
Verbal intelligence and numerical intelligence
The workplace environmental conditions include subject to noise, heat, cold
Injury exposures, and atmospheric exposures
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must have a clean driving record and a current driver's license
Must meet DOT regulatory & CBE requirements for operating CBE or related vehicles
Must sign all documentation to meet DOT regulations and CBE requirements
Basic computer skills and good interpersonal and communication skills
Previous experience with diesel and/or gas engines, generators, switchgear is a plus
Available to work rotating On Call as needed
This position requires a commercial drivers license. The successful candidate will be required to pass a drivers physical and all applicable tests associated with driving a service truck. The successful candidate must complete necessary paperwork required for the Company to process a Motor Vehicle Record check and Driver Qualification File, and must have a driving record acceptable to the Company. Meet the Department of Transportation physical examination and licensing requirements as mandated by law, and all applicable tests associated with driving a service truck.
Graduate of a technical school, military school, or relevant working experience acceptable to the company.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
